What’s in the bottle?
It starts with two grapes, Touriga Nacional, known for it’s use in Port wine production and planted across Portugal as the national grape and Alicante Bouschet, which has been used to produce some of the finest wines in Portugal.
These are joined by a handful of indigenous varietals to season the blend, adding spice, acidity and freshness.
The grapes ripen in the gorgeous vineyards of the Alentejo region, they are then made into wine in the town of Estremoz at the Vila Santa winery, built by the Ramos family in 1997.
A portion of the wine, spends time in oak, creating aiming for a texture like silk. It’s nose is powerful, with ripe black and red fruit, floral characters and and touch of sweet spice.
All of this combine to give you an elegant, yet powerful red wine, that can age, but is ready to drink the day you take it home.
