In 1984, Teófilo Reyes, winemaker and author of some of the greatest DO Ribera del Duero wines, fulfilled his long-awaited dream of building his own winery and producing his own wines, capturing in them his extensive winemaking experience.

Reyes was a visionary, a man who foresaw the future of the region, which would go through quality production and excellence, both in the winery and in the vineyard. In fact, his first vintage, 1994, was ratified by "Wine Advocate" and his wine recognized among the 10 best in the world, the first time for a Spanish wine.

The Winery facilities, some 4000 m2 recently refurbished, expanded and modernized are located in the heart of the Denomination: Peñafiel.

The renovated winery is accompanied by 60 hectares of its own vineyard, some recently replanted seeking the optimization of land and varieties. They are located at an altitude of 850 - 925 meters in the terms of Peñafiel, Pesquera de Duero and Manzanillo and, obviously, the variety is Tempranillo. Work in viticulture involves obtaining low yields and selection in the vineyard, and as far as possible resorting to sustainable agriculture. The best wine begins to be conceived in the field and culminates in the cellar.

This firm commitment to quality is reflected in the line of elaborated wines. A wine full of fruit and youth with a touch of wood such as Tamiz Roble, another with a magnificent balance between youth and aging such as Teófilo Reyes 15 months barrel, and a third spearheading the firm: Teófilo Reyes 24 months barrel, a complex and elegant wine.
