It all began when Nuno Cancela de Abreu, who founded the Sociedade Agrícola Boas Quintas in the year of 1991, in the recognized wine region of Dão. He is the 4th generation of a family with farming and winemaking history of more than 130 years. Established in 2010, by the partners Nuno Cancela de Abreu and Rui Brandão, Boas Quintas has expanded to other regions: Bucelas, Setúbal Peninsula, Alentejo, Porto and Douro. Boas Quintas is now represented in 27 countries and has been distinguished as the Best Wine Company 2016 by Revista de Vinhos. With the plurality of wine regions, the philosophy of Boas Quintas is based on diversity and, therefore, believes that each wine carries its own nature and identity. We firmly believe that the wine begins in the vineyard, being the result of the surrounding natural conditions. That's the reason why we are especially careful in dealing with nature and ensure our farming & wine making practices are as sustainable as the land & climate will allow us.
