In 1983, Mr. Jose Miguel Inaraja de la Calle, a farmer born in Valladolid, acquired the farm in its entirety, initially it was the family residence, until about 20 years later he decided to build the beautiful winery, restaurant & hotel, which began the Inaraja families adventure in viticulture. before then, the 1400-hectare estate had grown crops such as maize, potatoes or beets. The first vines were planted on the Monte la Reina estate, their first harvest was in 2004. Monte La Reina's start of the art, purpose-built winery is the perfect juxtaposition to old castle, the 350 hectares of vine are planted largely with the native Tinta de Toro, the local Tempranillo and Verdejo, a large range of wines are made – from simple wine of the year; fruity and ready to drink – to much more heavyweight offerings that pack a punchy combination of rich silky fruit, powerful tannins and softening oak flavours. The great selling point about this winery is the sheer drinkability of its wines. Fresh, forward fruit styles predominate, making this winery an extremely commercial proposition
